A Study in Timeless Romance: Behind Our Bridal Editorial Shoot

A Study in Timeless Romance: Behind Our Bridal Editorial Shoot

When one of your favourite photographers asks you to do a styled shoot, you say yes. Yes x 100. Roberta McLean and Evin from Me & BC are the creative geniuses behind this photoshoot, each one half of Sáile Collective. They had a clear vision for the shoot and pulled together an amazing team. And I think the end results speak for themselves.

Isabel Paganine was the hair and makeup artist behind this shoot. She created a beautiful soft glam look with warm tones. It looks incredibly effortless yet elegant.

The models for the shoot were Natasha and her partner Graham. I love when real-life couples do a styled shoot, as it’s hard to fake chemistry in front of the lens. You can see the love these two clearly have for one another in these photos.

The bouquet turned into one of my favourites of 2025. One of the best parts about a styled shoot is the freedom and choice to flex my creativity. The reference photos that Roberta and Evin sent me included an array of colourful flowers, so I went with a dreamy pastel palette. I gave it a more structural look with winding tulips, reflexed roses, and hanging amaranth.

Also included in the bouquet are stock, delphinium, and clematis vine. The bouquet feels very romantic and cool girl bride to me.

The theme for the shoot was a timeless, editorial look. In my eyes, you could easily flip through and find these photos in Vogue; they’re just that chic. It feels elegant and old-world money. And once you step outdoors, it looks as though you’re in the Italian countryside as opposed to in Vancouver, BC.

One of the reference photos for the shoot was this iconic photo from Alexandra Daddario’s wedding, and I feel like this photo has the exact same vibe.

Another favourite is this film photo, which Roberta captured on 35 mm film. It has a distinct look to it, with a grain you just can’t get with a filter or edit. I’ve seen a rise in couples wanting to sprinkle in some film photos during the wedding day, and I completely understand why.

I also must shout out the Kathryn Bass Bridal dress from their current collection. The bow sleeves are just the perfect touch, in addition to the textured fabric. It perfectly fits in with the timeless feel we were going for, and looks stunning on Natasha.
